Nostalgia on a Sunday
You go ahead and fight me on this one if you like, but George Michael's "Freedom '90" is one of the Best Songs Ever Made. The interesting thing is that he released it before most of his fans knew he was gay (yes, I know he was 1/2 of Wham!, but come on, I was eight), and it still took me about a decade to realize the song was his coming-out-of-the-closet anthem.
I can't believe this video is 18 YEARS OLD.
Don't worry, you're not getting old. That song is pretty fresh, though.

Ain't gonna fight you, I'm a big George fan and I agree the song (and video) is great.
But, he's gay??? :)

This has always been one of my favorite songs. The best way to listen to it is to be alone in a room and blast the song while lip sinking and dancing to the song. The video is also great, it brings back memories of the days of the super models. Does anyone notice that these mega super models were not paper thin like todays models, but are still more beautiful?

I was absolutely in love with this song back in 1995, when I was 12. It is a great song, and I have to agree with Kim that the best way to listen is just as she described.

My goodness Sarah you should at least be singing a first rate show tune if you're coming out.

HUH ... . so *that's* what all those - women - meant, about 'clothes not making the man' ... {ducking} ... but, OK, I gotta admit, the production value is First Rate, Sarah, by today's standards; for -18- years ago? Outstanding.

Bahaha! Someone told my brother that he looked like George Michael yesterday.

No doubt about it, George was (is) a very talented songwriter and composer. Its not my cup of tea these days, but then again I am going to see Van Halen Saturday here in Dallas... so I really have no room to talk. (Eddie is THE MAN!) lol
Keep Rockin!

Love the song, and the video ... but did not realize until you said it that it was his coming-out anthem. Durr.
