Dublin. Word.
Ok, I'm in Dublin, in a little internet cafe above Grafton St (main shopping hub). Just used Burger King for the bathroom- the only reason I would ever enter BK inside or outside the States.
Ireland is so great. Moving here as soon as I win the lottery. We stayed out on the pier north of the city in a little town called Howth for a couple nights, right alongside the ocean and a unique tidepool. Now in the heart of the city, staying one more night and then renting a car and heading for the hills.
A highlight from this morning was when an elderly man stopped us and asked where we were from (Kevin's Oregon shirt tipped him off). When learning we came from NorCal, he told me he knew I was of Irish descent- the lips and the cheekbones gave me away, he said, although he said my jaw was Anglo (damn). He approved of Lane, as it's a strong Irish surname. He wasn't so sure about Rose, but thought Kevin to perhaps have lineage from Eire's Northern regions- the hair and the eyebrows. A really cool chance encounter with a friendly old Irish fellow, and then he was gone.
This has been SUCH a trip so far, and I still have a week left!! The laptop's at the hotel, no pics this time. But trust that I have hundreds. Still love the Nikon, though I admit to being jealous of the Canon's petite frame.
It's so refreshing to go somewhere far, far away, and be remined that the Earth spins around the sun the exact same way every single day, regardless of where you lay your weary head. That said, absolutely nothing puts the spark back in my eye like a good vacation far from home. Dr. Bobby helps.
Viva Europa!
Glad you're enjoying yourself in Ireland! Wish I could take a trip out there someday. Have fun!!

Oh, how I would love to take a trip to Ireland. But, alas, I'm just a poor kid. o.O. I have heard Ireland is absolutely beautiful and smells better the New Jersey. Maybe when I'm older...and actually have my money.

I was invited to Northern Ireland to play music a few years ago. My schedule permitted no more than a stop at the train station in Dublin, so I'm jealous!
Have a wonderful time. I certainly did. Never bought a pint in a pub when I was playing. Very hospitable people, the Irish. One lady GAVE us her house and lived in a hotel for the duration of one stay. I also think Ulster has more beautiful women per square metre than anyplace I have visited. Must be something to do with the weather. Their complexions just glow. By the time I left, I'd twisted a kink in my neck.

Look for a small pub in Dublin called Kilpatric's (correct spelling I understand). Seems some of my relatives have a connection with it and it's a great Irish pub. Throw some darts on my tab. .

Jade Charles is right... moblogging (Mobbing? :) would save you the trouble of using the laptop to upload stuff... but I doubt that it works overseas.
Got any fans recognizing you yet? Do they even have TechTV there?

Forget about that bastard that posted as truth. He's the one who can't spell loser and hides like a worm.
It's is really cool that you met that old guy. If you get a chance I'd like to see a picture of him and the countryside. You're not missing anything stateside. Enjoy your vacation and spend quality time with "Dr. Bobby". Hope to see you and Kevin back safely with golden finger shackles ;).

It's pretty pathetic for you to post as me "truth". You should post as something more realistic like "bastard cream of some young guy gurgling gutter slut". That fits you much better than "truth". You've only stated your opinions overcompensating for your weaknesses. Get a life! And that's the truth. :D

If you get this message, call me. I want you to go to Baltimore with Leo and Pat 8/22-24 to be the MC for the Digital Digs Roadshow presentation. I hope you're not having too much fun. You were just about unbearable before you left and I don't want it to get worse.

Earthlink scam warning:
Beware! My parents recieved an Email from "EarthLink.Com" stating that the credit card declined and our account is on hold.
There was a link to click on. On the EarthLink.Com link it then asked for tons of info. Called the real Earthlink, and found it is fake.
Please inform any earthlink people. Pass the word.
If any Email asks for renewal call the support number to verify.
the key is the Email is from EarthLink.com. The real Earthlink is Earthlink.net.

Some places to visit in Dublin. Check out the oldest bar in ireland. I think its on the west side. It has part of a wall that has existed since WWI. Also go and check out the shoping district across from the movie theater in dublin. They have a big mall and some nice outdoor shops. Also there is a nice italian place called Belissimos that has some great italian food. ooh and for night life, check out an old pub called copper faced jacks. There is a nice dance club at the bottom bloor.
Enjoy.
