I am a flickr addict but I did really like it how the photos popped up in their own window as I read through your posts. It was like reading a picture book! Just some feedback, I really don't mind ;)

WonderDonna

That's a big bummer because I can't get to Flickr photos at work, and I read your three blogs while I eat lunch at my desk. Please consider moving them back. :) Thanks.

Buckly

I did like the photos in typepad. It was like watching a slideshow about your trip. However, I prefer Flickr to look at all the photos at once. I guess it is impossible to do both?

sarah

No, I suppose I could do both. It's just a lot more work for me. But I love you guys, and I want you to enjoy the blog posts as much as possible. Thanks for the feedback and I'll see what I can do.

I also liked being able to pop open a photo in the middle of a post.

I like the flickr idea. The pictures are bigger and make for beautiful desktop backgrounds.

Yeah I loved those popup photos too

There is no doubt that I agree, being able to popup pics in a post was awesome. What is a little extra effort when the reward is so great? You know that you love us at least that much....

Linking to the pics in the post made them more impactful because of their association with the story. I like Flickr, too. It makes it easier to find past pictures and get the overall scope of your travels.

We'll enjoy it most if you're telling the story the way you want it told.

That said, though, grey links are hideous.

I must agree with the masses on this one -- I like the pictures throughout each post. It was nice to get a little visual to go along with the story.

But I also like being able to look at all the pictures on Flickr from your entire trip. So what to do, what to do. :)

Buckly

Well it appears the masses are quite torn on this issue. We like Typepad AND Flickr. How about making the Photos link on the main page go to the Flickr account while keeping the In-blog posts on Typepad? I don't know anything about running a website though so I'm not sure how much work that is for you.

New York City

The only way I saw to get back to the post was to keep clicking the back button. After 17 photos, that's a lot of clicking. IS there a link on Flikr that I didn't see that takes you back?

Amanda

Hmm, personally I liked the Typepad method for the photos--I think an earlier poster mentioned it was like a picture book--I agree. Makes the story more rewarding. But Flickr is okay...if you just want to show the photos, as not necessarily something that is part of a narration. They're beautiful by the way--the photos.

+1 on the other comments. I really enjoy reading through the post and going to the photo or photos you were referring to. Doing so, in a way, puts us humble readers there with you.

Please do consider switching back - if it's not a PITA that is.

Safe travels.

Sarah, i'm thoroughly disappointed that you didn't do much in Mumbai. After the emails i sent you, it saddens me that you gaves didn't take the time to explore the financial capital of India. i gave you a lot of good tips on where to go. it's such an amazing city. i'm planning to go back and visit family at the end of this year as well. that'll make 3 straight years. i think you should stop what you're doing in whichever city you are in, and get on a plane and head back for Mumbai. it's the only fair thing to do.

take care.

your buddy,
ali
