Your Time to Shine
Ok, now's your chance to help me make the new TSS better than ever! Got a great download I haven't covered yet? How about a Windows tweak or trick you've just been waiting for me to discover? I want to hear your ideas. Comment below or send your ideas to sarahtss@gmail.com . Let's see what y'all got!
If you can turn me onto something new and/or crazy, I'll give you credit if I feature your idea on the show. Weird and clever websites are also welcomed (I'm trying to incorporate a little more wackiness into all of our lives).
Thanks in advance!

Hey neighboor!
I guess all my sites are crazy..
www.redban.com is my main one, I work for Joe Rogan (fear factor) so I meet a lot of crazy people, and I make stupid videos of them. I just moved to LA from Ohio, and I get paid SALARY to do nothing but record freaks and play video games. So my website is dumb documentary of my crazy life. From working retail at Gateway to smoking pot with the juggys from the Man Show.
Vegas Movie:
Big: http://www.redban.com/video/vegas2.wmv
Small: http://www.redban.com/video/vegas3.wmv
www.bluetorture.com a fake website that is ALL photshops and fake videos (well one snail got very very fresh breath, but lived -not real snail at end).
www.pillowhumper.com -website is being tweeked currently.
www.bushislord.com -friends website.. KERRY 2004@!
and my favorite... My buddy Doug Stanhope's (Man Show, Girls Gone Wild) DSL kept being disconected over and over again (for billing errors) so he called me up and we made 2 videos that we sent to verizon over the period of two days.. (pissed alot of people off because of the recent terror videos) But it has been downloaded more then 4 million times...
Part One: "The Warning"
http://www.redban.com/video/dslbig.wmv -Big
http://www.redban.com/video/dslsmall.wmv -Small
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Part Two: "Times Up my Friend"

http://needlesearch.mozdev.org/
Its like a search tool bar on steroids. It lets you search for more than just sites and images. It lets you search domain names, phone books, and development databases. It supports many popular search engines as google, and Anywho. Any you can even add search engines if its not already added.

Sarah,
Recently I needed an MPEG2 player (Windows Media Player wouldn't play the video I needed to play), and after a LOT of searching, I found Moonlight's Elecard MPEG Player 2.2 (http://www.moonlight.co.il/cons_player.php). It's not exactly free, but the evaliation version seems to work beautifully! You should check it out.
Also, you probably already know about this one, but SpywareBlaster 3.2 (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) is awesome. Since I've installed it, I've had absolutely no problems whatsoever with spyware on my computer. I don't think AdAware has found one single piece of spyware on my system since I installed SpywareBlaster. Before, I'd run Adware every other day or so, and there'd be like 10 to 15 pieces on my computer each time.

I will also vouch for the incredible usefulness of w.bloggar, and add Picasa, www.picasa.com to the mix. It used to be a for-pay utility, but Google bought them up and now it's a free download. It's an "insanely great" way of organizing and accessing your digital photos, and resembles iPhoto, but for Windows machines. There's also a neat little app called Hello by the same designers that allows you to share photos very easily - almost like a photo-themed IM program.

10. gamrcodecpack - http://anime-xtreme.com/gamrcodecpack-20040704.exe
I enjoy Animes so I found out about this little gem alittle while back. What the hell is Gamrcodecpack? It contains all the codecs you will ever need for media playback. Best of all it self installs the lastest version of codecs.

Peer-to-Peer but very TIGHT COMMUNITY. But if you run the server on your computer you have chat, bbs, file download upload, remote desktop control. But it is not free anymore. Mac People still love it.

29. Roboform - http://www.roboform.com/
From the Horses mouth: "Free Password Manager, Form Filler, Password Generator: Fill Forms, Save Passwords, AutoFill, AutoLogin, AutoSave." I like it and you should too.

My wife and I recently decided to rip all our CD's. I thought it would be easy but we ended up searching for quite a while and kept getting heavily restricted shareware/trial versions. A friend told me that WMP would do it, but the latest version seemed to need a plug in you have to pay for; same for winamp. So finally we found:
FreeRip
It's free, fast, and querries freedb to retrieve track info.

You could also do Zwei-Stein, a free video editor with chroma keying. It's been around for awhile, but a new version is coming out soon, and it is a great program.

Oh yeah, Zwei-Stein's website is http://www.thugsatbay.com/. Sorry about that!

Website to look into?
I know this site has been up and down for the past 5 years, but currently it is up.
www.zeldaclassic.com
You may have covered it once upon a time, I'm not sure. As the name implies, it allows you to play the original 1986 NES Legend of Zelda on your PC. However, included with the download is a quest editor so you can create your own quests. You can also go to the quest database and see what everyone else has created, and they have had 5 years to build up that database. A must see for any Zelda fanatic. The site is sponsored by Armageddon Games.

I think Arachnophilia (http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/index.html) is an awesome yet simple html editor. I've been using it for years and swear by it. I prefer the older version, 4.0, but the current version, 5.2, is written in Java and runs on all platforms.

Oh!... I wanted to add one last comment before I get some rest. :) Everyone should get off of Micro$ofts biggest flaws and download an alternative media player such as zoom player and replace their browser with mozilla or firefox. I feel that is'nt said enough. Oh yeah! and replace M$'s email client. Don't forget to backup, backup, backup. You'll be glad you did when it comes time to do M$'s ultimate fix of backup, format, and reinstall. :D

Hi Sarah,
Don't know if you've heard of this player before.
Core Media Player
http://www.corecoded.com/
I don't know if any other player has this capability, but Core lets you play videos on the desktop background! It's a fun thing to do. Core also support multi language files among other things, so you can watch multilanguage DVDs on this.

I ain't extremely useful in this regard, but here's a couple things I like:
DOSbox: A DOS emulator for XP machines, for those like myself who love older DOS games. Slightly buggy and there may well be better options out there, but I don't know them.
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net
24-7 Media: Just a nifty little website, a web designer's portfolio. Not enough to it to feature it on the show, but it's kinda cool I think. Got a sort of creepy/weird theme.

You may want to have a look at the Firefox skin that makes it look just like Internet Explorer: http://www.zzxc.net/ieskin
Using this, you can fool people into using firefox when they think they are using IE. Combine this with the Firesomething extension (http://www.cosmicat.com/extensions/firesomething/) to change the name from "Firefox" to "Internet Explorer".

It's not at all technical in nature, really, and involves no downloads whatsoever, but you should still enjoy it...it's an annotated list of fictional timelines on the Web. The site is divided by medium (e.g. Television, Movies), and covers just about any fictional series you can think of.

Here are some programs I can't live without.
Name: FileLocatorPro
Type: Search App
Desc: Extremely fast filename and content search app. At least 5-10x faster than the built-in Windows 2000/XP file finder.
Note: RegExp or DOS searches
Cost: $12.99 / 30 days. Free stripped down version is AgentRansack(.com)
Name: MSGTAG (aka message tag[ger])
Type: Mail Utility
Desc: Embeds a 1x1 pixel into all your smtp sent emails. The server will send you an email when the recipient opens the email (if they weren't smart and disable html emails).
Highlights: Know when to call when crunch time is approaching, doesn't allow mass emails (prevents being used for spam), and NOT a subscription service even though it uses their server to host the 1x1 pixel.
Cost: $19.95, free version embeds a MSGTAG image footer to every email.
Name: ieSpell
Type: IE Utility
Desc: A Spell Checker for Internet Explorer
Note: Checks all or highlighted form text (right-click menu), add your own words
Cost: FREE!
Disclaimer: I do not work or have any relation with these companies other than being a happy customer. Don't worry about your name in my email address, I use that to make it easier to filter things and as a little trick to know where my spam is coming from.
